why???? becuase its almost too small for a d16...its an alright turbo dont get me wrong...im currently running one on my d16...spools fast but then it seems to sorta die off and im running 10 psi (daily driver)...i dont like it on my d16 so i dont see how ur going to like it on an ls...ur settin urself up for a big dissapointment...but hey like u sed see how u like it then decide

The original application for this IHI is a 2.3 liter turbocoupe. Specs are
2.3L IL4 OHC, EFI ,Turbocharged
Horsepower: 190 @ 4600
Torque: 240 @ 3400
I think that it should work well on a smaller motor.

just figure out how much air your motor is pumping and you'll see that at 6500 it's pushing alot more than a 2.3 is at 4600, the turbine and wastegate ports aren't designed to flow as much as you are trying to push through it, so the turbine has no choice but to spin faster, get it? You can minimize spike by putting a puny restrictive factory style exhaust system on it, like 2", but then what's the point? If you get a nice big external gate it should work ok, then cause your IHI has a t3 flange, you can upgrade later.

you are all gay that turbo will work fine for a d16 my .42/.48 holds boost (7psi) all the way up to 7200
