quit being such a cheap ----- ----------er, sell that gay thing on ebay and get at least a 63/60
You asked for advice but your not taking it.
If it sucked on a y7 what makes it better for an ls?

I was thinking about putting one on my lawnmower, but its a tiny bit too big. I think the smaller of the ford T3's is gonna work better for you. The IHI was designed to spool up very quickly so people would not notice boost lag, but you get hardly any boost at all. I guess if nothing else consider it a "mock up" tool and sell it to someone who thinks they are gonna turbo a motorcycle. Good luck with your project though.

Re: ups and downs of a ihi thunderbird turbo???
yeah, those are only good for 1.3-1.6L with about max 120 factory crank HP, anything bigger and the hot side chokes up. The cold side can actually push well over 300cfm, the hot side is the weak link tho. I run nearly the same turbo on my factory 112HP 1.6L toyota and it works well, but it's just borderline big enough. I only run 6psi, I've had it as high as 12psi and it worked well right up to 7500rpm.
If you run that turbo it'll probably spike really badly before the boost drops off.

why would it spike?? i dont see any way it would ill do 8 psi on the street maybe 10 at the track im gonna try it out and see how i like if. If i dont like it i will let u guys know this will be my street car so it will be nice to see some boost at 2800 psi unlike the 14b i had on my d16 that spooled at 4 1/2
