If the turbo spools, and the BOV discharges, am I mistaken to believe you have boost?

im prettu sure it is the turbo, i took off the exhaust housing yesterday, looked at the fins, and housing, housing looked untouched..... but had ALoT of coking on it, and the fins where shiny on one side.... so im guessing not balanced anymore.

Wow, I said this twice. It needs to be balanced and you didn't and it's building some boost, but next to nothing and there is mad friction because your turbo is unbalanced and scraping the housing.

I see all kinds of blown and worn out turbos in serious need of rebuild.
But the worst turbos I am given to see, the ones with the most costly and unrepairable damage, are definitely the ones which the owner attempted to perform his own "home made turbo rebuild" on.

A friend of mine that is a member on the site bought a T25 and took it apart himself....I'm not sure why, it was brand spanking new....needless to say he didnt have a clue what to do once the housing was off, but he mustve kept taking it apart, because i havent ever seen that turbo again, and now he's running a bigger one. :1
