Default Turbo In Today Problems. Help Advice

Ok so the whole setup was put in today and she runs and all but she seems to be smoking fairly bad. I think the smoke is a whitish grey maybe a little blue? I checked the oil levels and it at normal level. The system is running without a cat at the moment and with FMU, i know not the best but its for low boost. Still I don't think it should be spewing smoke like this. Turbo still spools and and I get boost and all, just lots of smoke.

smoking from the turbo hands down, try getting a restrictor valve and see if that helps if not then you seals in the turbo is shot.

sounds like seals on the turbo. bluish tint is usually oil. the level wil not be noticable.
try a restrictor valve or needle valve.

does that mean the turbo is pretty much no good, it was just put in today and I was told that everything was in good shape. Damn, I needed the car on the road too, its a daily driver to get me to work.

Is there a quick temp solution?

ya check the return, if thats good then order the valve, if that does not fix the problem then get a rebuild kit or another turbo...

i was on the same boat as you a week ago, the bitch smoked for a good 2 weeks and it pissed me off but i drove it anyways cause this is my only car. The restrictor valve did not help my problem so i just replaced the worn seals in the turbo and now i won't blow them again with the restrictor valve.

it seems that went the turbo was installed the PCV was hooked bacck into the charge piping before the TB. After driving it for a bit yesterday I was told it probably sucked in some oil and to remove the pcv going to the charge pipe and run the car to burn out the oil that was pulled into the motor. Hopefully that is the problem. Crossing my fingers for the time being.
