turbo smoking help
my friend has a shelby lancer with a 2.5 sohc block with a neon dohc cam head custom made everything. now he has a 1.10 rayjay turbo everytime he step on the gas it smoke blue smoke. the seals on the turbo was bad and he replace them. could it be that the oil is still in the housing of the turbo. he just got it together and it is not a everyday car. also there is not exhaust if that helps. thanks.

sounds like a bad turbo... and the exhaust is leaking from it maybe... would be blue because its so rich and hot?

his problem is blue coming out the exhaust man.
also blue smoke has nothing to do with running hot or rich..
black smoke will appear when u are running rich.
the left over oil should have burned out pretty quickly. who installed the new seals? also have u ever thought mabey the engine rings/valves are leaking?

Re:turbo smoking help
Put a valve on the oil supply line. The turbo is getting too much oil from the engine. Just open the valve very slightly until it allows a small amount of oil through. you can tell when the oil is flowing because the pipe will be warm. I have used this fix on a couple of turbos

very true. often over 60psi oil pressure can actually push the seals out. there is a good article in maximum boost about that.
great post man!

Or on some decal's smoke can come from Valve steam seals.
