Default HELP, turbo smoking BADLY at idle

Hey whats up...i just recently finished my turbo setup

b20a5 prelude SI
14b turbo
5/16 oil feed line
3/4in oil return

i looked at the bottom of my o2 housing and it has oil all up in there...is my oil line to big and should i put a restriction valve in it so it wont smoke so bad....or do u think my turbo is shot....i dont think the turbo is bad because the dsm i got it off of, the thing ran fine smoke free....i heard 5/16 is kinda big for this setup, some people said i should go just a bit smaller and then some people said its too small...which if it is to small then hell my turbo is toast then....its burning oil though cause it was all up in there and i had some wanting to drip off the end of the o2 housing...i was smoking the hell out of the nieghborhood, im meen serious smoke.

im gonna call up a local performance shop...but its coming out of the exhaust seal only...------ ---- is everywhere inside the exhaust housing.

so its gotta be my oil pressure going in right or am i wrong?

thanx beau....im gonna use my extra oil pan and make a new drain line here in a bit and make it bigger because my oil pan i have on it now has a small leak in the bottom cause of rust.

i also have another 14b laying around...just no exhaust housing on it...i think ill clean it up and see if it works fine

so do u guys think my oil line is too big? should i go down to 3/16 or put a restrictor in there to slow down the oil cause the oil psi on my gauge is showing like 75 to 80psi at full throttle.

Your oil pressure is way too high for the turbo, you need to install a restrictor valve like you said, bring it down to around 30psi, not much higher. You only need around a 1/4" oil feel line, so your Psi x line size= massive amounts of oil, almost surely causing your smoke shows. But to be fair, you could be getting some blow-by, do a compression test and see how your engine is doing.

Mine is smoking like this too, i wonder if my return kinked up because this wasnt a problem before and I shortened it.

But mine pours the smoke when I get on the throttle really bad.

lol...me black no...and i dont want to be either...im spanish damnit...anyways...the setup is ghetto..it was done on a budget...everything is fine now...put on a smaller feed line and got everything fixed...put a new turbo on that i got for free so no more smoking turbo...its nice to be able to go around sitting at a stop light and not having smoke billow out under my hood
