OHHHHH NOESSSSS
I'm not really saying that RP is hype. You have a heavily built motor running high HP, You need an oil to match your requirements. I'm saying there's a lot of people who probably run expensive oils that probably don't need to, especially next to stock motors. Not that it hurts, but it's probably not necessary.

Hey dude i i think i got a Similar Problem.

Fully Syntechic is the Best OIL!(5w40)
But it might not be for YOUR car.Fully Synthecic Evaoprates on my car Synthetic Based 15w40 Last a bit longer. now i use the BEST of the CHEAP ---- Castrol GTX 2(20w50) with "Anti Burn off" for high miledge engine's

1) this Oil last's much longer
2) its much Cheaper
3) The Oil Is Consumed very Quickley anyway so no need to change Oil.
4) i just Keep Topping up So Oil still has alot of Viscosity

But its Cos my Rings are Fucked but the car is STill Boosting HARD so thats why i havent Reconed the motor yet!

Yeah I think I need to switch to a 20w50 or 'diesel' oil because of the attrocious amount of piston slap I have after my machinist bored the block.

before I blew my ---- up, I ran 10w40 with a puralator filter.
I always had about 15-20 pounds at idle.

I plan on running 5w50 or 10w40 when I finish my ---- when ever thats gonna happen.
BRAND=anything that IS NOT quaker state or Q

once i finally get my car running i am going to run shell rotella t 15w40. yeah its some heavy ----. its wqhat i run in my tow truck, i always have it around, and all the turbo diesel guys (big trucks) love it. my original dx motor came with a block warmer in it, i am gonna try to remove it and put in on my a6 block so i can plug my car in in the winter and the oil dosent get too thick from the cold.
