And there's a reason people pick Evo's and STi's over Aveo's as a performance platform. At least with Honda's little economy boxes 99% of all parts are interchangeable in some form or another. I just did a quick google search to see what kind of parts are out for Aveo's and do you know what I found? Jack squat...just a petition requesting aftermarket parts from companies. That says alot right there.

There's a difference between econo cars, if you haven't noticed. Epic's 400whp bone-stock d16z6, K's that get 500whp before they blow up, B's that go 400whp like its childs play.

Meanwhile you have factory turbo motors like the SR20 that ***** the bed in the 300's, the yota turbo jDm motors are similar (but since they usually can't make that power..) Then you have ---- like the domestic gas-sippers...

You bought a MPG car that was not too expensive, and are wondering if it would be cost-effective to turbo it. ---- NO. Hondas (that use MAP sensors) get turbo'd all the time because the motors can handle it, and tuning an obd1 Honda is like ------- a lubed hole in the wall. I could see dumping cash into a standalone on a mid-90's BMW 318i because it at least looks alright, but not on an Aveo.

If you turbo that cheaply, you'll kill your gas milage. If you do it right, your money savings ($ per WHP) will go right out the window vs something like a Honda or even a Nissan. Neither way will make the car prettier. So, to make a long story short, it is just plain stupid to turbo an Aveo.

The point is that the Aveo lacks the aftermarket support to supply this ------ with parts that would result in a reliable engine, the stock engine componants are pitiful and will not put up with the rigors of boost for very long.

Besides that Cornfuzed has demonstrated no comprehension of thermodynamics, nor general automotive practice, as well as discrediting himself numerous times.

I am far from a noob when it comes to my cars so don't just assume that because I don't spend my every waking moment e-thuggin people on a forum site about fabricating custom turbo kits about how it is stupid to build a turbo kit for any car. Honestly its funny because I can promise you when people first started this homemade turbo kit building a long *** time ago they were hated on for wanting to put a turbo on a honda because it didn't have a v-8. What about the guy who built the twin charged subaru wagon, the couple people with twin turbo civics, and integras?
