Thanks for your help. Is there anything else that you can think of that I may need to know before jumping into this type of conversion? But it would be stupid to put a turbo on a auto because then you would be able to get the great sound from the bov when shifting a manual.

Also, would there be a ecu problem? Would I have to change that thing? I was reading on another forum about people having problems with hooking up the reverse lights and also starting the car because of some switch that is used when you press the clutch in. Thanks.

Ok, thanks. I took a d16 non vtec out and installed a d16 vtec in the car without changing the ecu would that affect the vtec part and if I put a different ecu in for the manual tranny would it effect the vtec part? The vtec is just the timing that kicks in at a certain rpm right? So really it will not be affected by a ecu change at least I would not think so if I am correct.

Yes, I did a complete engine swap from a non vtec to a vtec and it runs sweet, its pretty quick for stock I think. Why, are you supposed to change the ecu? Will I get more power if I do? I get anywere from 27 to 31mpg and I have not had any problems at all. The engine has about 85k miles on it and the tranny has about 156k miles. It does shift a little hard sometimes ecpecially when in slow moving traffic but i was told it was because the vtec had more torque and the ecu was for a non vtec with less power. I can manually shift it and the tires will break loose when I shift to 2nd at about 50mph and when the road is wet I can spin them through 4th. Its got power but I know it could do alot more.
