LS w/GSR transmission into 94 Civici Coupe?
I am in the process of purchasing a b18b (LS) engine and a GSR transmission with a Phantom grip LSD. I was wondering if this would be a good setup to get. I plan on going turbo in the future. What transmission would be the best for turbo? About what 1/4 mile times would I expect out of this setup before turbo is installed. I am working on a budget and this is about the best I have found for under 1300. Let me know what you guys think about this swap and if there is a better combination I could use. Any opinions are invited. Thanks

what would be your 1/4 mile time? that is tough to say, I have seen lots of little 5g civic hatchs run low 14's with GSR's.. And since yours is a coupe, and not nearly the output of a GSR, my guess is going to be maybe low 15's, with typical bolt ons.
For tranny, I wouldnt change a thing, keep the gsr tranny. It has short gears. I think long gears for turbo sucks ***. I have a friend who uses a GSR trans that runs 9.8 in his integra, so I think you are going to be ok with that tranny. I personally like short gears because it doesnt put such a load on the engine, and you will always be in your powerband.
Good luck

Well I can also get a b16a cable tranny with the phantom lsd. Should I go with this or does the GSR tranny come with tighter gears? The reason I was wanting to know what my 1/4 mile times would be is that my friend has a Integra GSR with intake and exhaust and I was wondering if I would be able to run with him or beat him? I already have the intake, catback exhaust, and larger throttle body that I can put on this engine. Also will the Phantom LSD make any difference than a stock LSD?

You guys should be pretty close, you have a little bit of a weight advantage, and a couple more mods, but thats it. The GSR's put down some good hp.
I would go with the GSR tranny for sure, nice gearing, stronger internals (diff) than the B16a trans. Plus the gsr trans is a bolt in deal. Otherwise you will have to convert and get a cable and clutch pedal assembly.
You dont want to know my opinion on Phantom grip aka "Bunny Grip" they just suck dude. I had one ---- up my diff in my race car.

Re:LS w/GSR transmission into 94 Civici Coupe?
Is there a difference between the 90-93 Integra LS B18A engine and the 94-up Integra LS B18B engine? Would I have a problem putting the GSR transmission on the B18A? I did some research on the differences between and found nothing. Would I have a problem boosting one of them than the other?
