Transmission
Hi, I am new to this forum but I needed to know if I installed a turbo setup on my 93 honda civic with a d16 vtec swap in it and a 4 speed automatic would that work or would that be a bad idea?

Re: Transmission
As long as you are not planning on running high boost or making alot of power it will be fine.

Re: Transmission
When you say not alot of boost or power, what do you mean by that? What would be to much boost or power, I think that I am running at about 130hp right now.

lol, your tranny should be fine to about 180 hp, or atleast thats what I've heard. |
Re: Transmission
What are you saying? That my engine sucks? What do you mean a 3 bar? I am a little new to the import building but my engine is stock except for a k&n air filter. I think my engine is a d16 y6 vtec. This engine that was pulled was a d16 non vtec.

Re: Transmission
ur engine sucks but its not bad
ur tranny is the suckier one |
Re: Transmission
I see. What do you suggest I do with the engine if I want to keep it?

Re: Transmission
its not really your engine its your transmission

Re: Transmission
Would there be alot involved in doig a transmission conversion? Is it worth the extra power that I will receive?

Re: Transmission
i converted my auto 93 civic to 95 ex manual tranny, best move i ever made. Accels better and the fealing of direct control of putting the power to the ground is worth the change, specialy if u plan on going turbo. Besides, MOST sport cars come manual only for a reason. ;-)
