i've never personally had a problem with Vermont American, they're a re-named bosch tool. read the back of the product card. walmart spraypaint used to say that it was a subdivision of rustoleum.

but yeah, try to stick with major tool brands (mac, snap-on, craftsman is making a comeback, maybe stanley, they went to ---- last time i used em. some of the more industrial tool companies (i can't name any off hand, but use their taps/dies/easy-outs all the time) will be an excellent buy. craftsman is possibly the best buy, they've really stepped up their product standards on tools. 80's craftsman drill = lasts as long as the time it took you to pay for it.

 

Dormer,Proto,Jet,Hilti,Walter makes some I believe,Snap on,Craftsman etc.Go to a good tool store like a industrial supply place.This is one time you want to buy the best available.

You may want to try heating the area around the broken off bolt after you have your easyout setup in there. That will expand the hole and make it easier to get the bolt out. Good luck if you break the easy off.

Proto, SK some of the best companies ever in history for tools. HIGHLY reccoment buying any that you see at a garage sale for cheap, they're worth more than what you're most likely gonna pay

 

I had one break off in a cylinder head once, PITA. Then you use a dye grinder w/a small carbide bit to remove the material. To avoid this happening, drill the biggest possible hole.

 

Since the turbo is easy to bring with you take the other guys advice and bring it somewhere with a torch set and heat then try removing.

 

Or you can just find a new housing, T3 housings are pretty common, I had a buynch hear but sold them alll, the only ones I have left are the goofy dodge housings
