Traction Bars Done...*Need A Little Help*

Re: Traction Bar Tutoring...*Pics Added*
One thing I've found out the hard way is to run grade 8 hardware where it mounts to the LCA, I was fortunate when my bolts snapped and was actaully going slow/not racing. That scares the ---- out of you though, ya know loosing steering and front wheel braking...

Thanks and this was another question I had. Did you guys buy longer bolts to run through the LCA where you bolt the angle iron on? I can only get a few threads on with my angle iron slid over the bolt. Did you just buy a high grade bolt or another flat head pin-style bolt?

Finally done and made a bracket because my bolt wouldn't nut the angle with it more than a few threads. Went to the track, just got back, with the WORST 60's ever. How bad? 2.8 bad. I have to practice launching on these. First run it fell on it's face. Hooked and almost stalled. Tomorrow I need to get another nut to lock the other side because I had to tighten them each run.
Which is why I ask: Do you draw the trailing arm in tightening or do you extend it by loosening it? Which way and how tight do you make it?
Any advice on how to drive with these on the car now? I pulled out of the garage and launched then went to the track and did it. LOL. Once before I raced I got to try it. LOL. I just got in and stopped, extended them out tight, and launched a few times. These things got me ALL messed up.

That's what your trying to brace with those bars is the control arm, but it has to be done under suspension load (i.e. on the ground) or else you're just trying to tighten them while the arm is swinging it's radius and it'll be all messed up when you drop the car back on the ground. Think of it like trying to do an alignment on a dropped suspension when the car's in the air
