Default is there supposed to be steam/smoke coming out of a vented catch can?

ok I installed my catch can with one hose going to the valve cover and one going to where the pcv valve use to be ( eliminated the pcv) and drilled a few small holes in the top of the catch can and pluged the vacume in the intake manifold where the pcv use to plug into. and there is steam or smoke coming out of the holes in the top of the catch can. is this ok or is something wrong?

Why did you drill holes in your C/C? The one Im using has a fitting in an out, a drain on the bottom and a FILTER on top. (no holes)

I drilled the holes because there was no filter or holes it was just 2 inlet holes. so I had to make a way for it to vent

the only reason you have ANY steam is from a small amount of moisture that can enter the valvecover but this would only occur for about a minute, if its any more than that you may have some blow by issues or a busted ringland

does the car run like ***?
