Default still having problems...HELP PLEASE!

it seems that no matter what i check or what i do i still have the same DAMN problem.

I can't seem to hold boost under WOT...i can hold boost until redline if I don'go into WOT. but the moment I hit WOT, past 4500 rpm, the booost gauge reads 20Hg (vacuum side) and I lose all of my power.

at first, i thought it was a wastegate problem...so I disconnected the vacuum line that actuates the wastegate...same problem.

i thought it was the BOV but at 8 psi, redline, at 3/4 throttle it still lets off that loud *** PSSSH! so that can't be it

I redid my intercooler connections...as in re-JB welded the seals...thinking that too much boost was leaking at the seals. but now that it has been taken care of, I still have the same problems....

then I went onto a turboprobe forum...i read their posts and one guy described the same problems I was having (except he was losing 4 psi instead of ALL psi....another guy replied by saying that it could be due to some extra backpressure in the exhaust housing causing the wastegate to open...it makes sense to me, only I lose all of my boost...

i don't know if anyone can help, but all ideas, actually, ANY ideas would be appreciated.

thanks,
chris

WTF? You are getting a vac reading at WOT? Now that is strange.

BTW that BOV might be leaking since you have it disconnected. At full boost the only thing keeping it closed would be the spring which might not be enough.

Does the car feel like its going to shut off when it does this? The only way you could get vaccum at wot is if the engine is pulling more air than it can get where the gauge reads.. i would suggest looking at your throttle body and make sure teh blade is not broken. It almost sounds like at wot the throttle is going shut. and 3/4 is actually wot. That all probably makes no sense.. My suggestion is check your TB for wot function (visually look at it while someone hits the gas) Or you have a faulty guage... I vote gauge is the car still runs strong when this happens.

no, i lose all power after after 45000rpm..well, it just feels like stock...no head pinned back feeling at all, thus i am pretty sure the gauge is still good...

dr.boost:

my BOV is still connected...actually everything is connected...I just disconnected the vacuum line from the wastegate to the IM that one time.

but folks, the I intake doesn't feel clogged at all...it pulls really nicely until the engine hits the sweet spot, and the car just dies...I also checked my fhistank check valve and they were in working order...

Try bypassing those and see what happens. How many do you have? Something still sounds funny.

definetly has to be a problem with the wastegtate or bov. Or maybe it's a hairline crack in your couplings Maybe there is a small crack that only opens when it sees high pressure and then closes back up once you let of the gas. I dont know. Try replacing the wastgate or taking the BOV off. If you take the BOV completely off and it keeps pressure you will know that is the problem. I guess thats about all I could think about. Other than maybe your getting a fuel cutoff at full throttle..
