Default starion intercooler

How hard is it to weld the Starion intercooler (end tanks) because the guy i was gonna have weld it said he couldnt do it becuase it was aluminum. What to do you guys do to weld the ends?

if all else fails, would JB weld hold?

He is right, welding aluminum is harder than just welding regular steel, and you need a welder that can weld aluminum. I took mine to a friend who happens to own a welding/fabrication shop, so he did it all for nothing.

Jb weld would work, but it won;t look as nice.

if you do a nice job with it and add a little paint it'll come out nice. On my set up you can't even see the end tanks so it doesn't even matter

I took mine to an exhaust shop. He couldn't weld steel to aluminum (makes sense :P ) but did a good job when I got him aluminum piping.

It's for sale now BTW.

For some ppl it's easy

Hah good times welding aluminum. The guy who taught me welded two soda cans together with a mig. Then when I tried I melted a hole through two 1/4 sheets. I haven't messed with it since. Nah I started welding after the metal was all heated up so...

you need to find someone that has a TIG welder along with aluminum rod, and they will be able to weld it for you. 98ctr

PS: depending on how much boost you intend to run, jb wleld would work, but its not something I would recomend. 98ctr
