OK. Common EF (91 CRX) DSM sidemount in passenger fenderwell. But I have OE foglights (that I'm not removing) so I can't open up the airflow through the foglight 'hole'.

Anyone find improvements adding an intercooler fan in situations like this? I know in MR2 builds this is common...
Have heard of spraying alky over SMICs like this too to help with charge temp. (hondatuning or something)

I know FMIC and/or NO2/CO2 intercooler sprayer works better but this is lowballer j/y hmt setup. just trying to get best (real) performance on a budget.

If it makes a diff. this will be with a tiny IHI T-Bird turbo starting at ~8psi maybe up to 10-11 if I get hungry.

 

you can get a front mount for $150, by the time you buy a side mount and a fan, you'll spend close to that, a little fan thats worth a damn wont be cheap, and it wont work nearly as well as a front mount, plus without a FMIC it aint jdm yo! fmic ftw!

 

My SMIC + fan setup <$50

+ FMIC will be tough again cause I'm keeping OE crx fogs. most FMIC piping seems to interfere with the fog cutouts (unless I put some harsh bends in my charge pipe...)
