werd! UN-SPRUNG All the Way Beeyotches! . And I can tell ya... you aint gonna blow the gears in a honda tranny by goin un-sprung.... If you suck and can't shift, and miss and grind em your gonna drop a gear, but guys that drag with 900 Hp civic's still run the factory Honda 5spd tranny's

ive been running unsprung 6 puck for almost 2 years now, no probs with my tranny. I think it just depends on driving habbits. unsprung seem to work good in Ds and Bs but suck for Hs, probably b/c H trannies suck.

i always wonder about people who ------ the word that 6 pucks will automaticly break axles and gernade trannys, is it from experience or something you hearrrrd?

I don't like the unsprung clutches. For all out ***** to the wall driving, yeah, but not daily driving in traffic. Sometimes you have to "feather" the clutch and that causes a nasty chatter and a vibration and as much as the ladies like the vibration, they don't like it. :P

I've never used the sprung 6 pucks so I'm not sure if it's just the 6 pucks or if it's a "sprung/unsprung" thing.

unsprung disks can cause you to shatter gears and break axles because they are instantly ON from a stand still launch.

the springs absorb the shock of going from zero torque to ### which helps eliminate shock to your tranny/axles.

not saying you WILL break stuff without springs, but that is the reason for springs.
the noob is right, the springs will take up the slop in the drivetrain before you trough full torque at it. Kinda like letting the clutch grab just a little before you dump it.
ive never understood why people say this...the springs dont exert force on anything, and from what ive seen and always understood, they are there to reduce vibration only. Unsprung clutches are not ON/OFF like many people think, they are fine for driving even in heavy traffic (which i do quite often).
exactly, the springs have VERY LITTLE to do with engagement.... The springs in a sprung clutch are there to reduce the torsional vibrations of the motor... they extent the life of your bearings... No the springs arn't there to reduce chatter and no, they arn't there to 'smooth engagement'

It's the same reason why your flywheel weighs 20 pounds and your crank pulley weighs 10, simply to reduce torsional vibrations that affect the crank. manufacturers spent alot of time figureing that ---- out, don't ---- with it.
