But why do people call them whitey bends? What is whitey?

and there's no bend there, just a series of mitered cuts.

Guy says expensive?
A 2.5" mild steel donut is $36. You can make most of that down pipe with that and small section of straight pipe.
I would much rather do that then spend countless hours, cutting, grinding (and some more griniding) and then welding all those sections together.
Each his/her own though.

Although I agree that the donut is a cheaper and better option, there shouldn't be hours spent doing these bends. As soon as you have your saw set up to cut the right angle, you just make one cut after another...so you'd have about 10 mins in cutting the stuff up and about the same tacking it together. The weld time on it would be about an hour or two....depending on how much you let it cool during the process.

that SHO is badass, i don't care how ugly it is. I've had 2 SHO's, one with pretty much every possible bolt-on (which wasn't much) It was hella fun. I can't imagine a turbo one.

That SHO is no longer ugly. He bought another black SHO with full leather interior and swapped everything from one car to the other. The turbo kit has been cleaned up and the thing is now a beautiful car. I'll get pictures of it next time I'm home

Depends on what you call cheap. Based on what I call cheap, there are not any good and cheap welding machines.
