I don't really consider a 75mm vitara setup a good DD car. It rattles almost all the time and smokes some when it's cold. There is also a ---- ton of blowby. If you want to DD with vitaras, I would get the 75.5mm pistons and have the block bored to fit them. You aren't going to break any records like I did with thinner sleeves, but you will be happier about driving the car.

I built my block with the sole purpose of braking the vitara record and making over 500whp. That's why I used the 75mm pistons. My turbo setup was made with daily use in mind though. Things came up and halfway through the build I had to change directions and slap the car together for daily use.
Yeah, I was going to go with the 75.5mm cause I did not want the piston slap. When you say "one of your own" turbos, what kind is it? Are they any good and hows the reliability? I was considering the LSD clutch but was not sure on the ftlb's. Thanks, that helps. I am not married to one specific turbo and since the motor will be new, I would not mind a new turbo. Got something good for budget and reliability? I know that sentence makes virtually no sense.

well, my turbos are chinese. they are better than the typical ebay stuff, but still chinese. i have recently realized that they need to be kept at 10psi and under. the thrust plate in them just cant handle any more. i have tons of them running around with stock block setups and no problems, but i have been through 2 myself running 15psi daily. i usually get 3-4 months out of them. i even have one with over 30k miles on it running 8 psi the whole time.

Wow... pretty impressive for cheapies. I was thinking of using a 16g or 18g. I've always had good luck with mitsu turds. I'm sure I can crank one of thems up to 15-17psi and reach my power goals. I still want quick spool up.

Werd! My tuner was pretty confident in the 16g when I ran my goals by him. They tune mitsu's all day long. I want to throw some power down when a V8 rolls up so they kiss my *** when they get smoked by fried rice!!! "That's pork fried rice you plick!!!"

you can get RC injectors that require no modification. just bolt in.

a stand alone is retarded in a honda. chip your ecu and run ectune. you wont find anything much better for a honda. i just made over 500whp with my vitara block on ectune with 31psi and a 130 shot. its great.

there really isnt anything bad about over sizing your injectors within reason. a good tuner can make pretty much any injector idle. you should keep your goals in mind though. if you plan to make 500whp you dont need 1k's. i run 660's on my DD civic at 310whp daily. thats bigger than needed, but it runs great and gets 30mpg's.

where in FL are you? i live in St. Augustine, but my shop is in Jacksonville.

31psi on vitara's .....you say.... 500whp... dude i am IMPRESSED... i'm located in lake mary florida. i see you mentioned "your shop" exactly what services do you offer? do you personally support ectune? because if so the 2 hour drive would be worth the payoff, your numbers speak for themselves. Oh and the only reason i was talking standalone is because the guys at titan motorsports are rich bastards. Who only work on serious vehicles (mostly supras) so i better come correct for them to work on my econo whip. My problem is they are the only one's relatively close besides CFT (and i've heard bad things about them)

*And arok you've almost got me sold.... but im still on the fence..... ill search the writeups..... how much for you buddys' equipment?

i am a performance shop, the only thing is i dont have a dyno yet. its in the works, but i really have no idea when it will happen. if you want a good dyno tune, and you are willing to drive, you need to talk to Tom Sewell. he is an authorized ectune dealer and he actually did the tuning on my car to take the vitara record for the short time i had it.

his name on here is sewell94 or you can find contact info on the ectune tuners list eCtune.com > Authorized Tuners

i am not an authorized tuner for it, but i can street tune with it if you buy it. i have used pretty much all software for hondas.

also, i noticed you saw the 31psi, but did you see the 130shot on top of that? we put that block through hell that night and it took it like a champ. lol

so as far as the financials are concerned, what would be a respectable ballpark figure for a complete ectune setup including the neccessary electronics ( by this guy you recommend) and ill search for some info but is there anywhere i can find a good writeup/info on their software?

It depends on how you go a out it. If only he tunes it, he charges $350 for a dyno tune and that covers the ectune cost or he charges $250 for a street tune and that includes the ectune. You will need a chipped ecu for him to tune it. I know he chips ecu's but I have no idea what he charges for that.

If you want me to tune it or do anything yourself with it, the software is $150 and then you will need a moates ostrich ($175) or the moates demon ($250)
