Yup, 1G DSM is a recirculating valve, not a BOV per se, although the distinction is in how they are plumbed.

Yeah those dsm's are very quiet when vented back into the pre turbo intake, have you ever heard a stock dsm's bov? no, its very hard to hear unless you are listening for it and then its still faint.

Dude is correct! However, if you're running more than 10psi it makes it pretty iffy at best. I used to have a Type-RS with the recirculation kit and it was pretty quiet too. If you use the stock airbox and plastic intake pipe that too will quiet your bov down a ton. 1G bov it quiet too recirculated, but you can hear pretty much any metal bov if you're listening for it. A Bosch bov, 2G bov, or EVO plastic bov are pretty much impossible to hear recirculated and if you can hear it, it doesn't sound like a typical bov anyway, just a light chatter that's barely audible.

Not really, 2G6, my Bosch recirculating valve plumbed as a BOV was pretty loud. PSI restrictions people impose on BOV/RV are BS, btw, it's all about the airmass passing through it which varies between engines and displacements.

Jared already has a RV... suggesting he downgrade to a piece of plastic... Don't get me wrong, Bosch RVs work great, but isn't as good as 1G DSM.
