dyno's are completely WORTHLESS

street tuning with a wideband and EGT is much better

pros use dynos because of tracion

most ppl go to dynos for peak numbers. who gives a ---- about peak numbers.

----, i ------- work a dyno, and i still see no need in them. if you have tracion before 4th gear, they are a waste.

Well you took the words right out of me, I personally dont care for using the *** dyno in my car when doing a 4th gear pull on the freeway and trying to hold a 300+hp 2000lb crx straight on the road. While having my buddy hold the labtop and wideband. Gimme a break, dynos are great for measuring hp, doing mods, adjusting cam gears and logging A/F's. It's simply more practical. Most people dont have widebands in their car anyways. Thats great you work at a dyno and find no need for them. I love being on dynos and tuning cars. Get over it

well, just becasue every single GOOD tuner in the country will openly admit to prefering on road tuning, given that it gives real loads and part throttle while being in load; should tell you something.

dyno's are, for the most part, for numbers...and numbers alone.

and if you car isn't stable enough to do a 3rd gear pull, seeing as it will give the SAME numbers a 4th, 2nd, 5th, or 1st will...then you suck at driving. Sure a 4th gear pull will have better clarity....but most of the time it doesn't come down to ever 10rpm for tuning purposes on a sub 600whp car.

i actually help out with Eurospeed dyno days quite frequently, and also at the local dyno here in T-ville. it's a dyno jet piece of ----...but it's still a dyno.

i've just talked to MANY tuners through my days of cars, and all of them prefer to have a super long straight stretch and just do some massive 3rd or 4th gear WOT and part pulls.

dyno's usally are at 100% load or no load. and unless you have an inertia dyno...you can't get good realistic load for the car. but then inertia dyno's are way off on everyhting.

if i have to use a dyno, it will be Eurospeeds Dynapack. Seems to be the ONLY dyno that is true to it's numbers and by far it is the most repeatable and consistent. there are no varible from tire pressure or rolling resistance from tire size of wheel diameter or weight. there is also no chance of the car coming off the dyno and injuring someone or the car itself. and the ----- is PORTABLE.
