That rod is junk.
Ben at importparts will sell them individually. You might try TT, they offer really good service along those lines, too. |

Discoloration from heat = warpage + ruined temper.

I'd plastigauge it a few times on the journal you plan on using it, then take it to a machinest to make sure its cool, I'm sure its fine.

Old redneck machine shop locally was heating rods with a torch to fit pistons, discolored on the middle + small ends, had a couple of them fold from fatigue because of that. |

its toast, i had a friend that bought a set on ebay and they were the same way.then the machine shop measured them up and the rod bore looked like a damn egg, they said just buy a new rod.

I wouldent use it unless a machine shop measured it out and ok'ed it. no use in building a motor and driving on it for 100 miles before you spin a bearing.
