Is this rod usable? pic
Well a fwe months ago I bought some used eagle rods. They were barely used and looked fine when I looked at them, but i took them out of the box again yesterday and noticed discoloration on one. Maybe overheated or spun a bearing? What do you guys think? I'm probably gonna bring it somewhere and have them check it out.

of all places to take a pic, you put the rods between your legs. nice.
i wouldnt worry about it. just me. |
Re: Is this rod usable? pic
I take it that rod took some spun rod action? i would check all the clearances and dimensions with a set of calipers and see if there is any damage

Re: Is this rod usable? pic
For peace of mind maybe you can contact Eagle for an individual rod, cap, or both. I dont think there is any way of testing its strength, but Im sure inspection will determine its trueness.

Re: Is this rod usable? pic
I wouldn't worrie about them being weak but I would take them and get the bore checked. Just to make sure there still round/ right size.

Any pics of the inside? Any notching from the seat on the bearing?
Any pics of the other side? Any notching from the seat on the beering |
Re: Is this rod usable? pic
