Default Question about blowby.

First off I rented a compression tester from autozone and when I went to use it I got 0 psi on all cylinders and realized the needle was broken. So I went back the next week to see if they had a new one and they tried giving me the same one.

So my question is: when the car is idling there is no smoke coming from my valve cover breather, I rev it up still no smoke. When it's idling a decent amount of air comes out, but I have a built block and every other built block I've seen has about the same amount, more than a stock block. When I rev it up it almost creates suction, very little air comes out. I'm assuming my ringlands are ok but after a good day of romping on the car I see what looks like smoke coming out. I blew my stock b16's ringlands and the amount of smoke really isn't comparable..It's odd.

Also I read on here I think actually, if you have blown ringlands you will have loss of power(which i had on the stock block, but not this one) and it will smoke constatly even at start up.

My PCV setup is a modified black box on the back of the block with two fittings added with hoses leading to the ground, capped off the intake manifold nipple for the pcv, and filter on the valve cover. My A/F is 11.5-12.0 and my ignition is very conseritive, I know I could make a little more power but I don't wan to deal with building another motor.

I was just wondering if anybody else ever experienced this.

Doesn't sound like ringlands.
Maybe your turbo is seeing too much oil. Got a restrictor? How's the return line.

I'm not running a restrictor I'm just using the stealthmode -3an kit. My return is good, straight shot, no bends or u shape.

Would too much oil in the turbo make smoke come out of the valve cover or just the exhaust?

BTW, this is my car

B16A
Probe industries 9:1 pistons
tuner toys rods with the arp bolts
acl bearings
mls gasket
arp head studs
garrett t3/t04e .60
knock off 38mm gate
knock off 50mm bov
ebay intercooler
homemade ic piping
homemade dp and 3" straight pipe exhaust that exits by the rear passenger tire

It was a straight up htm build but after two blown, used turbos and a set of ringlands its somewhat decent
