Default shim the CDM wastegate

anyone cheap enough to try and shim there wastegate? if so what did you use and what was the outcome.. i got a 5.8 psi spring i was thinking about finding a large washer or somthing to try and bump it up to 8psi or so

Probably just easier to make or buy a boost controller.

Yea, you can use a few washers to shim your wastgate (im assuming where the bracket bolts to the turbo)... I did it on mine once, and it worked well..
1 washer upped me about 2psi...

I also bent the bracket once, to up the boost. It worked, but you have to watch out not to get the arm crooked, or it will bind.

he is talking about a external wastegate and your are talking internal, but if you find the right size washer it should work

It'll work, but just check to see that the valve will still open 100% and not bottom out from the washers.


You might get boost creep if that happens.

I can get springs for thsoe WGs, comes in set of 4 at a redulious price.
but then the problem is no one knows how many psi they are at LOL

send me some, and Ill let you know what they are rated for

Im running the stock spring on one of my set-ups right now. 6-7 spring rate. lookin for 11 psi spring.
