I thought about it too... but your gas tank can't be air tight. Think about the overflo with expansion of heat / chill etc. The gas tank on a bike has a vent with a tube that goes down to the bottom of the bike for overflo. (also spillage when filling... instead of going on the tank paint, it catches in the half inch dish all the way around the filler neck)

Also, your gas tank isn't the best at handling pressure. It's only 15lbs of boost (MORE THAN I'M DOING) BUT IT'S PER square inch... and there's alot of inches in that tank. I don't wanna blow up haha, it's safer to use a pump... Not as much HMT style, but i'm too cheap to take out life insurance O0

That won't work because the drain is lower than the oil level in the bike. THe oil from the bike would flow into the turbo. The oil seals are just like piston rings... there i a tiny gap, but with a little oil pressure, with a turbo housing completely full of oil, it will just seep out. If you've ever rebuillt a turbo, you'd know what i mean, if you have, then you know what i'm talking about.
It really only takes a tiny bit of pressure to push oil out of those seals. And the oil doesn't get pushed into the engine, it will fill the turbo up, and push MOST of it into the engine, but some goes out the seals. Tiny bit of oil creates lots of smoke.

I think the tank would hold the pressure fine. I was thinking about the safety issue, and it is a bit scary, I think I would test the tank dry with an air compressor before attempting it. As for the vent situation, I think I could come up with a valve that would do the trick.

I know that, and rea;;y the RX8 the drain line went into the drain plug. You just need a regulator for the oil pressure being fed to the turbo. The increase in pressure to the seals will be almost nil, so if the turbo can be run with a feed pressure of between 8psi and 60 psi, regulate the feed to 20psi. You are not making up the 40psi in restriction of pumping into the bottom of 4" deep oil.

The greddy kit used a restricted orifice fitting.

IT RUNS!!!!!!!!!
No more exhaust leaks, no more oil leaks. It had a pool of oil in the bottom of the exhaust housing of the turbo... that's why it kept smoking even w/ no leaks. And the exhaust manifold had a leak, and the charge pipes kept blowing off.
Some JOHNNY 5 DISSASEMBLE and a little scratching of my head, its all fixed. Now she's got some T-bolt clamps also. :6

Started w/ the 152.5 jets, way too big. Went to 140's, still way to big. So i'm going to throw the stock ones in (100's)just to drive it around and get the clutch worked in... then i'll prob go to some 127.5's or 130's.

And by the way... she's not a very comfortable motorcycle anymore...
and i STILL NEED AN F4I FRONT FENDER! anyone have one?

But now its not running very well :7

So, with the bike running before the turbo, all i had was the stock 100 main jets, with the air/fuel screws 3 turns out.

So i started the BASE tuning with 152.5 main jets, 2 shims under each needle, and the float bowls lowered 2mm each to 15mm final. Also running 2psi fuel pressure.
Bike idles GREAT and starts easily.
HOWEVER, anything more than 1/8 throttle, it just dies. Not even put put... just poof. dies.

So... i figured it could have been a number of things... So i went back to the easy idea... eliminate all variables... Put the stock jets in, and removed the shims...
Same problem... SO MUST BE FLOAT HEIGHT.

Now, i was told to lower the floats 2mm... i did... I'm doubting this now, so i'm going to bring them back to stock height. 13 mm. Should be runnable from there.
Then maybe i'll throw the 140 jets in that i have, and put the shims back in. Yup, that's the plan, any other comments?

Update...
Been having lots of headscratching problems regarding the pitot boost reference. Velocity / volume / flow / pressure... all things i had to LEARN HOW TO CALCULATE before i could figure out how to measure and fabricate the new pitot.

Things are lookin good, and should be fabbed up tomorrow or Sunday. Get ready for videos... :y I can't wait to hear the hks knock off!
