everything is done EXCEPT for the oil drain from the turbo... Still debating on where to plumb that back to. OPtions are getting an oil filter sandwhich adapter and plumbing it back into that, or the oil drain plug w/ a banjo bolt, or the oil filler cap on the clutch cover.

PS--- i hate fitting braided lines!!!! I only bled once though! so that was good.

Now i just have to figure out how to get this jerk inspected... I'm not sure if a turbocharger is part of the "modified exhaust" statute in the RI ordinances? haha

That's pretty darn cool. Is fuel management needed for carburated motors, or do you just tweak it?

Looks awesome, good use for a spare DSM turbo. But, doesnt the track require that your levers have ball ends??

Lets see if we can answer some questions...

Yea, spiked bar's are not acceptable at any track, I had the balls, but one snapped off during my wreck after T-boning a 120lb black lab at 11pm on a back road :X F*kn dog!

Turbo is a td05 off a mid 90's eclipse, THEN off of a 91 accord, then into my basement for some cleaning, and an internal rebuild. Now she's fresh!

About the orange...The gf already nicknamed my bike Tony. (you'll know why when you see the tank / tail / fender)

Not little ceasers... but they're good too! This is a little local place, called Chicago Pizza... even though i live 1000+mi from Chicago.



Carb's do need a bit of tweaking to work. There are 2 main types of carb setups that work with Boost. Blow through and Draw through. Respectively, the turbo is blowing or sucking throught the carb. A draw through is putting fuel through the turbo, and only uses one carb... i didn't want to mess with that, plus it makes it more dangerous with combustible air in your charge pipes if there is a backfire. KABLAM!!!
So i went with the Blow Through setup.
Theory of it is simple... carbs suck fuel and atomize it through pitot/static tubes (jets)
Carbs have float bowls... they let fuel in through gravity, and when it fills, the little float blocks off the valve and says, that's enough fuel!!!!!!!! (KINDA LIKE YOUR TOILET, W/ THE FLOATING PLUNGER INSIDE... WELL, EXACTLY LIKE THAT) That is why most carbs for 4 stroke engines don't work upside down.

So... If you have 6lbs of boost, the air pressure would just force all the fuel back out of the carbs... Lean out the engine, and just shut it off. (not blow up)
To counter act that... WIth 6lbs of boost, you need 6lbs of fuel pressure. A 1:1 ratio.
For this, you need a constant fuel pump, with a 1:1 bypass fuel pressure regulator. (meaning... zero boost, zero fuel pressure.) If you get this right, the carb will act as a stock carb... in boost and not in boost. As long as you have a Pitot boost referance source for the bypass regulator, and NOT a static source. Static acts like a venturi tube, creates vaccuum from passing air (like blowing over a bottle top) Pitot is like RAM air... It is direct, and the source is unobstructed, and pointing towards the oncoming flow.

However, Pitot and Static matter not as much while IN BOOST, because while in boost, these properties are tossed out the window... The charge system will now act as a pressure source. WHich is a whole other cup of soup.

The main issue is the transfer from n/a to boost. That is why the pitot source works best.
