what you guys are telling him to braze a brass fitting which would really be welding. you should soder it if you good. other wise drill it then tap it out.

i think jeff mig welded a brass fitting onto his oil pan before?

ok man do this, go to a welding shop and pick up some brass rods for brazing, and some flux, heat up the welding rod w/ torch and dip it in the flux. now heat up both the pan and brass peice. note that the steel pan is thin so it will heat up very quickly. w/ the pan a dull red in color and your brass heated slightly also, dip the welding rod onto the pan. if u have trouble controlling the weld use a graphite pencile and trace around the oter edge of where u want your weld to be. this will prevent the brass from going all over the place. good luck
