Default plans on odd HM water IC

i think about doing water intercooler such way: use 2-3 civic heater cores standing each after each other, weld a box around it and blow air from turbo throught those radiators. and run water with front mount heat exchager trought those cores. so that will be "reversed" water intercooler =) . what do yuop think, will that work?

You wouldnt want to use heater cores, Use the DSM Eagle Talon intercooler (you only need 1 really) they are easy to find and cheap, I have thought this method through, it is a good idea but i'd honestly go with one big frontmount, but if you must go air/water then the above is your best solution.

It would work, and it's always fun to try new things.

Make it easily removable so you can put it in the freezer overnight

no one locally can really say will this work or not.. so only one way to check it - doing it =)

now my civic waits new axles. as soon as i boost it i will first install "big" front mount intercooler, datalog intake temps and then install that "water intercooler". and will see will it work good enought.... =)

2.5 inch front mount pipe keeps my charge air temps down below 100F. 12 psi.

My buddy sealed a plate w/ a barbed fitting on each side of his WRX IC. He then circulated water with a boat bilge pump from a water reservoir(cooler) mounted in the trunk.

He also put in a couple tee's and valves in the return line so he route the water through a front mounted tranny cooler for everyday driving.

It worked pretty good once he got it to quit leaking.
