Default water cooled turbo, where do I get the water?

I just unexpectedly bought a water cooled turbo :P (Its a 13g from a 1G DSM automatic). No problem, lasts longer I suppose. But where do I connect to the water and how?

I assume I will tap into the big inlet and outlet radiator hoses, but since they are under pressure and rubber I am concerned about how to tap in without leaks or blowing a barb/fitting off. Anyone know what to use?

Also... the threading for the water inlet/outlet on the turbo is what? I have searched previous posts and saw that the oil is 12mm 1.25, but what about the water?

I dont know about the threading. But there are smaller coolant hoses that people use near the TB

ok u can use the big line under the intake manifold, but thats a pretty big line.or u can just cut one hose and run one end into ur turbo and put the return line on the other side kinda like running the turbo inline with hose.or just simply pull the little hose of the intake manifold that runs from ur intake manifold and is joined with the "hard" line and run that into ur turbo, and put the return line back on below the tb,just totally get rid of the metal line(the one that runs from ur intake tube).just put a nice little APC :P filter over the opening on ur valve cover.atleast this is the way it works on my y7 and crx si manifold :P

You can also drill and tap the TB with an 1/8 NPT fitting.

I'd just get it from the back of the block though. Click the link for a site with pics.

Dude, did you even read that post before hitting submit?

Also, Don't type in all caps, that's just annoying.

Now to answer your question (as best as I can decipher it)

No, you don't have to run the water lines. Water cooling just helps it keep from coking. If you don't run water lines, I would definately use a turbo timer or idle the car for a few minutes before shutting it off after any moderately hard runs. If you have a water jacket in your turbo, just run the lines, it's a waste not to.
