Oil Return Line - What type is Stealthmode?
Guys, I need a steel braided return line (like in the Stealthmode kit) in about 5/8" diameter that can be hose clamped on and won't leak.
Will any of the regular brands (Aeroquip etc) clamp up reliably, or do I need the "cut your ------- hands to ----" compression fittings that these brands use to prevent leaks?

i think steve's computer is messed up or something, but talk to him if you want something that he sells.
I would just goto napa and buy a high temp hose to fit your needs, get a dress up kit on it if you think that black colour (or homo *** red colour) isn't fancy enough for you.

Quadnie,
Thanks for the reply - I have some high temp rubber line on the oil return line right now, but the trouble is that it's getting abraided by the CV joints (this is on a VW Rabbit) - I need some braided lines to protect the oil line.
So, I guess the braided lines can be secured with hose clamps?

ahhh, I see. You should have clarified that earlier. See I thought you were a ricer that just wanted some fancy rice ---- going on under the hood.
Yes a braided line can be secured with a hose clamp, I don't think it will be that bad since this isn't a high pressure situation. Another option would be the high temp rubber hoses with what I said, a dress up kit, like metal sleeving that they sell in the rice isle of your auto parts store. It's funny cause back in the day when I worked parts counter, the only type of aftermarket flashy ---- we had was a few edelbrock products and simple things like shifter *****. Now it's all fucked up and slanted to attract rice.
So you going to tell us anymore about this turbo rabbit of yours?

It's got an anemic 1600cc engine (80hp/80 ftlb) which is a "counterflow" design, meaning the intake and exhaust are on the same side of the motor. It's a great design for tight packaging, but sucks in every other respect - the air has to do a 180 degree turn to enter and exit, and packaging a log manifold and turbo under the intake is TIGHT - I've been through 3 revisions of teh manifold and I've finally got it straight.
Anyhoo -
*Top mount I/C (Audi 5000) ($25)
*Mitsu TEO4H turbo at 7 psi ($35)
*Used BOV from a 1.8T Jetta ($10)
*Homebrew log manifold (about $100)
*Homebrew charge pipes and exhaust (JC Whitney - about $120)
*Megasquirt-n-Spark management (about $300 for all the bits and pieces)
*Techedge Wideband ($200 with the sensor)
I'm guessing it's pulling about 135-140 HP right now, I'm still playing with it. That's not huge numbers, but it's good enough to start with. I've had a few hiccups that've slowed me down, but little by little I'm getting it together.
