Default oil pressure sensor question

Okay, So the sensor on the back of the block...would it be okay if i were to just take that out and replace it iwth a mech oil pressure sensor and just leave it hanging?

i was reading that it just goes to a dummy light in dash and that it doesn't go to the computer at all

?

yes u can leave it hanging..but the dash light will stays on..might as well take the bulb out. :P

they sell these adapter where you cut the upper hoses up, stick the adapter in and there is the threaded hole for the sensor.
or if you have one of those upper hose neck that has a bleeder on top of it..take the bleeder bolt out, retap it for the sensor and bolt it up.

Yeah I was thinkng about putting it in the bleeder hole but the sensor / temp peice is way too big.

I want it somewhere before the thermostat

e.g.

inbetween the the block and the thermostat so incase my thermostat is being gay and wants to not open I'll beable to tell.
