yeah, you'll have to get an obd2-obd1 conversion harness for starters so that you can use an obd1 ecu (you can't chip obd2 ecu's). then you'll need an obd1 vtec ecu (p28, p30, p72, p75), it doesn't really matter which one because you're going to be rewriting the maps anyways. o.k., now you have you're conversion harness and obd1 ecu, next, you order a 'zif socket', this is the thing that is soldered in to your ecu that allows you to plug chips in to it, you could just solder a chip in, but then you would have to desolder/solder every time you need to make adjustments. basically the zif socket is a plug that allows you to plug in chips. if you don't feel confident doing this to the ecu your self, there are tons of people in the engine management section that you could send it to and they would do it for next to nothing (well, i guess not many people like you any more, so it might cost you a little more). now you have an obd1 ecu that will accept chips. next comes burning a chip, all you need to buy for this is a couple chips (about 3 bucks each), and a chip burner (about 70 bucks), or you can just have some one burn a chip for you, but the only problem with that is, you won't be able to tune it if it needs it unless you have a chip burner (the burner writes the 'tune' on to the chip). you just use uberdata (for obd1), which is free, to edit your tunes. it's not something you'll learn in a day, but it's a million times better than an afc. my suggestion would be sell the afc, take that money and money you would have spent on btm and buy a conversion harness from www.jdmshit.com (78-90 bucks shipped), an obd1 ecu (75-150 bucks), you could actually look for someone selling one that is already socketed, then just get a chip and you're good to go.

so burning a chip is just like getting a e-manage right?
the difference is in the price.

i agree run a chip ecu.... i started out with the afc... but then i went with uberdata...i running pat's map that me a turbo90accord modify... and im still running my afc(for fine tuning) and my car runs great...youll be very happy with it...
