Re: ngk wideband kit
I've been using zeitronix with display ever since I've been boosted I use it as my primary sensor on daily driving, no problem, I fried the unit because of bad wiring and they replaced it for free.

Re: ngk wideband kit
Had the AEM before and it always gave faulty readings

Re: ngk wideband kit
Im planning on picking one up to leave in the car permanently as my LM1 is more for tuning only. You cant go wrong with NGK.

Re: ngk wideband kit
Be nice if I could buy it without the sensor as I have 2 of them and I bet that is 1/2 the cost of the kit.

Re: ngk wideband kit

Well then rule that idea out.

Re: ngk wideband kit
Reasons why I dont like them:
1) You buy an NGK/NTK Wideband, you expect to get an NTK sensor with the unit right? Nope, they are too expensive...even for them (the company that makes them) so in order to undercut everyone else out there they use an NTK plug with a Bosch sensor. So when your Bosch does go out on you, you need to buy a $150 NTK sensor as the replacement...they made it this way to sell replacement sensors...no other reason. 2) 0-5v output is linear but non configurable. Effective range is 9.0 AFRs to 16.0 AFRs, gasoline only...not configurable for other types of fuel. 0v = 9.0 AFRs and 5v = 16.0 AFRs...so when you go to tune with a stock Honda ECU (without the 0-5v mod) you can only read to 3.13v which is about 13.4 AFRs. If you wanted to tune leaner than 16.0...then you are SOL. Getting near the edge of any 0-5v signal always leaves room for error too. Sure, its a good cheap wideband, but for my money there are better solutions for the same price. IE, Innovate LC-1 with the Moates O-Meter Display...I could sell them all day long the prices these NGK Units go for...especially to my HMT brethren. |
