Default newb exhaust question.

I am going to be using a 2.5" downpipe, but my exhaust is 2.25" with a 2.25" test pipe. How am I going to ge the dp to fit up to the test pipe? I was thinking just use a 2.25" reducer and then throw on the oem donut gasket and use the stock spring bolts that go from the oem cat to the oem exhaust manifold. Anybody running a similar exhaust setup and have pics or info on how they did it? thanx guys.

That sounds like a good plan to me, I would put the reducer right before the test pipe, just like your saying, that should work fine. It'll be better to get a 2.5 inch exhaust, but in my opinion not really worth it to spend the extra $$$ on it.

the exhaust shop that ran mine on my accord charged me 90 bucks from the catback. it can't be much more than that from the downpipe back, maybe 110 at the most. definitely worth the money, escpecially if you will be upgrading later

when i got my current exhaust done it cost much more than that. I don't know where i could get it done for that cheap around here. Also that couldn't possible be mandrel bends right? I have 2.25" press bends right now.

Just get the reducer with a couple of exhaust couplings at any local muffler shop, or well stocked autoparts store. That should get you on the road for now.

Save your $$$ and wait a bit to buy a welder, so you can reweld yourself a 3" setup when the time comes
