THat 50 trim comrpessor is fine. But the turbine though....

Yeah the stock LS doesn't need 0.63 a/r. The 0.48 a/r is fine. (STAGE ONE)

But the stage one turbos can no longer be ordered from garrett nowadays (i think). So he might have ordered a stage 3 turbo for you!! if so, THat's way too big. STage one i sufficient.

Although 0.48 stage 3 COULD work on the LS. ACtually, if that's what you are gettting, let me know how it runs... i don'T have much exprience with the 0.48 stage 3...but I am sure it rocks.

thats a straight t3, nothing near what he was looking for.

personally, ive tuned a stock LS with a t3/t04e .63ex/.50 57trim garrett turbo and it seemed to spool decently quick...was in the 4500ish range at 12-13psi.

isn't 4500ish very late for spool up I understand 4500 rpm spool up CAN work and even be ACCEPTABLE to some people but why paying extra for a turbo that's twice too large when the right model would cost less and be all spooled up by 3000 RPM resulting in a car that is so much funnier to drive? (isn't MORE FUN what's turbocharging is all about anyways?)

MAny turbos will work on the LS but something as small as a t3 60 trim does NOT die off at high RPM's on the stock ls. it pulls early, and all the way to red line.

Personally, I don't mind a later spooling turbo. The gain seen when using something larger is 90% top end power. I personally don't think quick spool cars are nearly as much fun to drive.

my friends ITR with a t3/t04e .60/.63 60 trim with a stage 5 exhaust wheel starts spooling at 4200 and by the time 15psi spools its at about 5000, the car has insane top end power, smokes everything on the street, and ran a 12.3 on the same tires we drove it to the track on. Now thats a fun car. If it spooled any earlier it would just burn tire even worse than it already does, and you don't go anywhere when your tires just sit there and fry all day.

Another tuning customer of mine has a t3/t04e .50/.63 with a stage 3 wheel and a 57 trim comp wheel, it spools 9psi at 3200rpm (its a sleeved forged 2 liter) and its nowhere near as fun to drive as mikes car was on 9psi. Not nearly as fast either.
