Is My Turbo Broken?
HI this is my first time posting here..okay so this is my problem. Im boosting 7lbs.. Im speeding down the street when i BAM!! a loud like snapping sound..and my car stops.. Now i cant turn it on..was it the headgasket that broke ?? And Once I get the head gasket replaced to a thicker one along with the block gaurd.. will the turbo and everything else work fine..or do i have to replace the turbo now?
thanks
thanks
kinda sounds like it could've been your timing belt...
if your belt snapped, that bam was pistons hitting valves and you need a new motor...although you werent really specific about what all that happened.
if your turbo took a crap on you, your car would still run, it just wouldn't boost and you'd lose performance from airflow being impeded by the turbo.

That was a pretty vauge description of what happened, what else have you done to diagnose your problem?
Are you burning coolant? is the car missing?
When head gaskets go out, their usually is no Noise involved, it just burns through , and starts loosen compression or burning coolant, or pressurizing the cooling system.

This is what happend to one of my head gaskets along time ago. It was missing on cylinders 2 & 3 and broke all the ring lands.. No noise at all when it happend.
If you had a large noise, it really could be anything man, you need to be a bit more descriptive, and tell us what you know.

take a look at it yourself. u might have bent some rods. just replace the head if the pistons are fine.
a shop told my buddy he needed a new engine and all they had done was a leak down and compression not even pulled the head. ends up half a valve broke and we took it in and got some new valves put in.
cheap fix.
Yeah, I think a shop might try to rip you off if you give them the same description of what happened as you gave us... It could almost be anything. Check the timing belt first..... I doubt its the turbo kit!
