My NA Hatch is Boosting 4psi
I have this boost gauge since I first started to piece my kit, that's before HMT had forums
, and for different reasons I had not been able to get everything I needed until know. Anyways, I'm starting to install some of the small things on the car to save time for install day. I connected both my Air/Fuel and boost gauges. The boost gauge has always read 4psi, I thought it was going to fix itself when installed, never thought it would be a problem. Now when I turn on the car it will read vaccuum, 25psi, but when im at WOT it goes to 4psi. I'm thinking it's no calibrated right and when I'm finally boosting if it reads 10psi it most likely will be 6psi. What do you think, Should I just trust the reading minus 4psi? or get another one? Got it about a year and a half ago so I can't return it or send it to Autometer for warranty repair. Unless I make my own receipt of some kind, but they might have some type of tracking or serial number system to find out how old it is.
Anyhow, Sorry for the Long *** post. Any suggestion is appreciated.
Thanks
David

it should be reading -20vac and at WOT 0psi/vac. I would get another guage. hook it up and see. maybe u can buy the same make/model and just return the buggered one. say something like "I don't need it anymore" or "Uniformed purchase" play dumb.
me and a buddy did that w/ a dreamcast controller once. Bought a used one from a pawn shop. Windex'd the hell out of it to clean it up, bought a brand new one from future shop and returned it saying he didnt need it.
