boosting 4psi.... wastegate set at 7...help
Guys I just finished my charge pipes and finally yes I'm boosted. The only problem is that I'm only hitting 4 psi maybe 5 max. The stock wastegate should be set at 7 psi.
I'm curious whats the deal. I had a problem with my charge pipes leaking but I seemed to have fixed that. I'm holding the 4/5 psi consistantly its not dropping off anywhere in my rpm range.
I doubt my pipes are causing that much of a pressure drop or my intercooler (28inch core). Is it possible because the turbo came from a 2.2 doge and my 2.4 twin cam (pontiac sunfire engine) is outflowing this thing.
I'm just confused and a lil upset about it. I havent tried running the wastegate actuator at my throttle body opposed the turbo its self but maybe thats worth a shot. Sorry for the long post but any help is appreciated.
Oh and 4psi definitly feels better than 0 in of vaccume thats for sure. I just want the full seven!

Re:boosting 4psi.... wastegate set at 7...help
You were right bud, I disconnected the vaccum on the actuator and boom... more boost than I could handle.
It jumped to 10psi quickly and higher but I let off. My fmu was boggin the crap outta my car lmao. Gosh I want to turn up the boost but I'm going to leave it at 5 psi for now...that still feels wicked compared to stock.
Sorry I'm just giddy that I dont have any problems..... I think I'll go weld the adapter on my charge pipes for the bov now
