Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
He hasn't really wasted to much money. I meen all this stuff he bought can be resold easily. He's already got his money back on the first turbo and he overspent like 25 bucks on the injectors thats not to bad when it's all done I doubt he misses it.
and on the front mount he's got it now and when he feels it's time to go with a bigger turbo the front mount is already their.
and going ahead and doing the oil lines is a good idea to anything he can do now and get out of the way for the big install just saves time and now he has a few thing off the check list and won't have a suprise like oil lines that aren't long enough or are the wrong thread or something.
good job man keep it up.

Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
i cant believe those dsm injectors on eGay went for $76 + $15 shipping...i got mine for $15 shipped
Im running a 14b on 8 psi....
if you are going to run a t25...you need a minimum of 10 psi.
8 pounds on the 14b is super fun, and still reliable.
i like the custom fuel pressure gauge setup, and the gauge face plate in place of the stereo....
did you make that? or buy it?

Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
i like the fact that your laying your thread out step by step, helps me as well as other newbies out when we try to build a turbo setup. Good progress so far. im in the middle of gathering parts myself, trying to rush it sucks but it pays off later when you save up money from the budget to get it toned. Keep it up man

Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
im a noob to this stuff myself... as you might have noticed. but yea, im learning to not rush things, as you can see its more expensive. Im installing what I can as I go. (itll make things easier when I go to instal turbo.)
I got the turbo, and intercooler in today, and drilled holes in the bumper support for intercooler, and prob mount it tomorrow. We'll see.

Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
Nice so far man, i did the same thing, i rushed everything, and bought ---- quick and most of it was all new parts, when my friends around me were getting the same but stlightly used ---- for wayyyy cheaper just cause they waited, so i know how you feel, you just want boost, just like me, but then i got laid off from my job, so spending all the money cause i was in a hurry came back to bite me in the ***, but its cool, it will all be worth it in the end, hope your ---- turns out nice.

The turbo I lucked out on because I got it from 9TrayTurbo for a set of DSM injectors.
My Wastegate cost about $140
The rest of the turbo setup was pretty costly, but its a proper setup with a proper 60 trim and no half *** parts except for my charge pipes which are made out of 2" ABS untill I have the money and time to upgrade to full aluminum.

Re: My Homemade Turbo Project...
cool little step by step noob action you got going. jus kno what your buying now cuz incase you didn't notice, your 2 t25's were not even close to the same, the sr t25 had a diffeent flange and dp flange. it was much larger n i woulda kept that. 5psi on the srt25 would have felt nicer. ask questions and for opinions b4 you buy some things. thats why were here. but good to know your actually into it. keep us posted
