I ran a Nuformz block guard for years because it came with the block. Zero problems.

You clearly dont know who I use to tune my cars or win DRail is going to use to tune is car. So Ill let you assume your a cool cat for now. hint they both from eastern ohio :S

number 3 from the timing belt side melted. ---- block guards im not running one with the next block.


anyone know why there are no signs of detonation on any of the other pistons but there was enough in #3 to put a hole in one?

i was talking to one of the guys at my local machine shop too and he was asking me why i didnt run my block guard like an inch or so from the top of the sleeves that way coolant can cool the top of the cylinders where the combustion happens. anybody tried this?

I would suspect the oil to cause the detonation as well. Seeing that the others didnt detonate. You could have also had one injector with improper flow? Did you have them benched?

thats the only thing i could think of too was the oil caused some pre-ignition. the injectors are brand new rc750's with just over 1000 miles on them. not ruling out the possibility of an injector sticking open.
