could be your spool of wire. ive had some that were binding on me and it wreaks havoc on the wire feed speed, makes it all erratic.

try rewinding it or try a different spool.

try cleaning the wheels with some rubbing alcohol. i have seen that before. also, my mig welder only works right on one specific outlet in my garage. try an outlet closer to the breaker box

cool I'll give those ideas a try. I hope the spool isnt bad (it did sit for about 3-4 year in the machine without being used. Is that bad?). Those size spools are like $40+ :P

good to know. TOmorrow I'm gonna work on the welder and depending on how that goes, I've still got a bunch of things to work on so it's whatever I feel like. Still need to order some flanges from RRE. I'll do that tomorrow at work. Guess I'll work on the IC piping. Plumbing a miata sucks *****.

well I'm going "over the top" (not the sylvester stallone movie) with the hot pipe and around the radiator and back up with the cold pipe. I'll also have to trim the plastic ---- that everyone is so animate about keeping for creating a vacuum for the radiator or some scientific ---- like that. If I didnt want to run a 2.5 cold pipe, I could probably find a way to go over the top with the hot pipe.

I had to notch the inner hood skin ---- for the hot pipe and after cutting through it, I accidentally bumped the back-side of the outer hood skin and I guess the vibration made a big *** paint bubble bigger than a quarter which I'm already getting grief about so it'll be around the rad for sure on the cold pipe.

The oil pan is aluminum so I'm going to drill/tap it on the car like everyone else does. Crazy mazdas.

Speaking of radiator room, my car has AC so to keep from having to move the receiver/dryer I just got a smaller intercooler. But on the sides, its fine with the exception of the plastic ----.

Gonna work on it tomorrow and go *****-out on it this weekend to see how much I can get accomplished. Gotta get a few brass fittings for the dual-feed-fuel-rail-mod.

Just got done ordering my remaining flanges and ---- from RRE and 2 hump couplers from egay just in case I have problems lining ---- up perfectly. Gotta check on my t-bolt supply. I might be a bit low and might haveto order some of those.

Removing the bumper is kind of a bitch so I'd hate to blow off a coupler that requires removing it.

i wouldnt tap the pan on the car. aluminum shavings are bad for your engine

but, if you are not going to listen and do it anyway. do it while its full of oil then when you are done, drain the oil so the shavings will come out with it.

or better still, feed the whole crank case with compressed air such that none goes in anyway. old trick for drilling and tapping vw oil galleries for filtration.

ally shavings arent as bad as steel ones anyway, and lots of ppl drill steel sumps on the car.
