Anybody used one of these, I know it has some funny exheast housings but I can work with it.

Did you know the new mercedes s600 is a twin turbo v12 and only pushes out 500 hp in the american version. Such a detuned car, its a almost a crime.

It's not detuned. Germans don't build cars, they build tanks. It probably makes 29083240823ft lb's of torque at 12rpms and redlines at like 3k. Have you ever driven a jetta / passat / any german car (m's aside)? They are exactly opposite of our hondas. They pull harder down low and get weaker as you approach redline. I don't know how they do it, but their 4 cyl feel like 6's if you drive them "normal". Even the 1.8t; They are notorious for undersizing turbo's just for the torque. All about the ease of driveability and to allow you to shift a lot less.

 

yea its detuned to save the life of the tranny... i mean 500hp damn...

Johny your right about the german cars.I have a 99 passat 1.8t and it dies past 6krpm.It makes full boost at 2500RPMs though.That little *** k3 turbo blows ***.
