Re: Has anyone used this turbo for D16z6

im not too sure, but if it is extrnally gated shouldn't you block off that hole for the old wastegate? i may be wrong or your d/p may do it but i was just wondering. but i say use it

The turbo is perfect, I love high end spool...you'll love it too. Thats a good size :y

Just go 3" open downpipe and with the bigger injectors you could go alot faster safely.

It's a .70 a/r TO4E cover. Looks to be a T31 turbine wheel. Compressor is probably around 56-59mm. That would make it a 50 or 57 trim most likely; probably 57. I'd have to research to find out for sure though. I have the same exact turbo here at my house that I forgot about until I saw this thread lol. Now I'm stoked because I have a sweet turbo around that I can sell off or trade or use.

The T31 (aka stage 3) isn't too laggy. Down really low in the rev range that turbo won't do much, but it's nice up top and in the middle. It has pretty much the exact same wheel specifications as the PTE SC34. So yes, your turbo is a 57 trim. If you want to go to a smaller turbine housing (probably a good idea) you'll just have to find a turbine housing that can accommodate the stage 3 turbine wheel. Some of the turbos came with a slightly smaller 69 trim turbine wheel as opposed to the 76 trim T31 turbine wheel, so you'll have to measure it to make sure. .48 a/r or .63 a/r are both good sizes.
