lsvtec turbo selection
ok, i searched and couldnt find the answer im looking for, also im not looking for compressor efficiency as much as trim selection.i understand the compressor maping. stock lsvtec aiming for 300hp range but want my tq to be fairly close to that also. so my question is this 48 trim,57 trim or 60 trim turbo to get good torque through the hole powerband. im only turning the motor to 7500. im finding alot of t3/04e 57 trims making 300hp but only 220 tq on average. also does the manifold design have a big effect on tq using the same turbo. also im looking for a quick spooling turbo, dont have the money for ball bearing but would like very little lag.my last car had a t28bb but it was d series. what is a really torque oriented turbo?
so looking for fast spooling turbo (non bb), aiming for 300hp, but more concerned with tq curve than hp what would you guys recommend?
again stock bottom (30k miles) end lsvtec mild head work. thanks

Re: lsvtec turbo selection
A big T3 on an ls/vtec will spool very fast, and a .63ar with a stg3 wheel will hold torque to redline. You'll need 12-15 psi to make 300 though. I had a friend with a b16a, .60/.63 60trim T3, .63ar stg1 wheel, and it spooled fast, held torque well, and made 250whp on 9psi.
