i wanna lower the boost on the 14b internal gastegate...
do i put washers on the wasgate to make the arm longer or do i need to make it shorter to lower the boost

no you're wrong. adding washers to space the wastegate out will RAISE the boost. it essentially makes the spring in the wastegate stiffer from more tension.

making the wastegate arm longer would lower the boost, but in this case, you're effectively making it "shorter" by pulling the actuator away from the flapper.

I think he is talking about adding washers between the actuator bracket and the turbo which would bring the actuator closer to the wastegate/turbo and open the wastegate up a bit, which would lower boost.

ok now i knwo adding the washer to raise the boost, but how would i go about lowering boost without having to cut and weld the arms?

dude maybe you dont know how a 14b wastegate is mounted. its hooked onto the input side of the compressor, not the back side like on a T3 or something. Adding washers on a 14B will move the wastegate actuator away from the turbine side, and put more pressure on the flapper, thus *RAISING* boost
