I don't terribly care too much about equal lengths and making the perfect manifold, I do however want to shy away from half assing the job.

So here is the deal.

Firing Order details

Basically I am wondering how I should order the cylinders into the collectors. Should I alternate?

Kinda like this

Cylinder 1 to collector 1
Cylinder 5 to collector 2
Cylinder 3 to collector 1
Cylinder 6 to collector 2
Cylinder 2 to collector 1
Cylinder 4 to collector 2

Is this the way I should run em to evenly distribute the firing into each of the two paths, or should I try something different?

I agree with your idea. Thats exactly how I would want to route them if I were to use 2 separate 3-1 collectors, perfectly even, makes total sense.

All though looking at the diagram of the dist, I would really want to do a 6-1 collector with the runners entering the collector exactly like the pic .... give it a nice swirley scavenging pimpness quality.... but 6-1 would be a pain, and I really doubt there would be a difference that would justify the extra work.

Either way, good luck!!!

im just going to basically ignore the other ideas in this thread at this point...

6-1 isnt happening, im not running 6 pipes all the way under the motor and back up

sounds like i got my answer anyways. this is basically what im doing, mickey mouse drawing

The intake and exhaust are on the same side of the head? What am I missing here...

you're missing nothing

the intake and exhaust ports both exit the left side of the head.

Of course the intake and exhaust are on the same side of the motor! It IS a Jeep motor ;). It is also push rod and they make major valve train noise even new. Stuff on our 95 wrangler, you would have to go back to the 60s to find on other vehicles. Those motors are really reliable.
