Looking for a little re-assurance/info on manifold design (non-honda/non 4cyl)

Basically this is what I am building.

I am going to build a manifold for a Jeep 4.0L Inline 6. My idea, once i get hold of some flanges, is to run 3 cylinders into one collector and 3 into another collector, then have the two merge near the turbo flange. This basically creates a 6-2-1 design.

I don't terribly care too much about equal lengths and making the perfect manifold, I do however want to shy away from half assing the job.

So here is the deal.

Firing Order details

Basically I am wondering how I should order the cylinders into the collectors. Should I alternate?

Kinda like this

Cylinder 1 to collector 1
Cylinder 5 to collector 2
Cylinder 3 to collector 1
Cylinder 6 to collector 2
Cylinder 2 to collector 1
Cylinder 4 to collector 2

Is this the way I should run em to evenly distribute the firing into each of the two paths, or should I try something different?

if u can make a 6-1 collector ur a master :-X
then u would just have to route the pipes in 1 place

or just go simple and make a log
u cant go wrong with a log

cant u modify the original header?

i just stared at that for a little while and now my brain hurts.

Just keep it simple and make a log.

Or a twin turbo setup might be easier too

both not what i asked, but thanks i guess.

and no you cant use a log.

I think you normally don't skip cylinders.

Cylinder 1 to collector 1
Cylinder 5 to collector 1
Cylinder 3 to collector 2
Cylinder 6 to collector 2
Cylinder 2 to collector 1
Cylinder 4 to collector 1

Like on hondas when the firing order is 1,3,4,2...you usually have 1 and 3 paired, and 4 and 2 paired.

remember that the exhaust pressure is on pulses not a constant stream
and if i was him i will make it like originally posted... to keep a pressure balance within the manifold and avoid reversion since turbo manifold usually see 4x the pressure u are compressing into the intake

yeah that was kind of my concensus on it too...evenly distribute the pulses.

this would be 4 cilinders to colector 1 and 2 to colector 2
