Log vs vx mani?
Just from a logical standpoint it would make sense that an HF style manifold with the exhaust gasses taking a more direct path to the turbo would flow better than a log which acts as a sort of plenum for the turbo, with excess pressure being exerted on the 1st and 4th outside walls of the manifold. Logs just don't seem as direct to me.
Thanks for the input!
Haven't quite decided what I'll do yet, but I guess I'll try to make that log manifold. At least I get to play around with the tig welder
Will a log manifold affect drivability when not in boost? I mean, its quite far from an effective design, will the car feel like crap during cruising? Its going to be my daily driver...

HF mani's work fine, my friend has one on a z6 its tight for the oil return, but nothing impossible by any means, and they are alot cheaper than a log, just dont look as prety, and if you have never tig welded before it takes a little practise to make it look perdy..

we know they work fine thanks for the news from 1996.
Im gonna throw out there that a log will own a hf manifold especially on a higher boost set up on a big turbo.
Hf mani is great for your typical d 8-10 psi small turbo street build but its limited that the fact that it has **** size runners
No port matching will improve the actual volume of the manifold but a little
I've just started working with a log now, at least I get to try TIG welding. If it works out alright, I'll be using the log, and if not I have the vx mani. Made most of the flange today, so I'll be welding next week
Thanks

Thanks
